It applies to:

- your dealings with us by phone, SMS, email and in person.
We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

You can make a general enquiry without giving your name. However, we need your details to process orders, arrange delivery, provide quotes or open an account.
If we receive personal information we didn’t ask for and don’t need, we will destroy or de-identify it where it is lawful and reasonable to do so.

When you submit a form on our trade website, you agree to us contacting you by phone, SMS and email about your enquiry.
If you don’t give us the information we need, we may not be able to supply goods, give you a quote or open an account for you.

Overseas disclosure
Our customer relationship management system provider is based in the United States, so information held in our customer relationship management system may be stored or accessed there.
Some of our other service providers, including those that run our online store and process payments, may store or process information overseas. We refer to these as overseas service providers.
Before we disclose personal information overseas, we take reasonable steps to make sure the recipient handles it in a way that is consistent with the Australian Privacy Principles.
Cookies and tracking
Both of our websites use cookies. Cookies are small files stored on your device. They help our websites work, for example by keeping your cart and checkout running and remembering your preferences.
We may also use:
- analytics tools, to understand how people use our websites; and
- advertising tools, to show our ads to people who may be interested and to measure how well those ads work.
These tools may use their own cookies.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. If you do, some parts of our websites, such as the online store checkout, may not work properly.
Direct marketing
We may send you our newsletter and other marketing by email or SMS where you have agreed to receive it or the law allows us to.
Every marketing email and SMS we send includes a way to unsubscribe. You can also ask us to stop at any time by contacting us.
If you unsubscribe from marketing, we will still contact you about your orders, quotes, enquiries and account.
Storage, security and destruction
We store personal information electronically, in our business systems and with the service providers described in section 5.
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss, and unauthorised access, change or disclosure. Access is limited to people who need it for their work.
When we no longer need personal information for any purpose, and the law doesn’t require us to keep it, we take reasonable steps to destroy it or de-identify it.
If a data breach occurs that the law requires us to report, we will notify you and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
Accessing and correcting your information
You can ask for access to the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it, by emailing info@sletrading.com.au.
We will need to confirm your identity, and we will respond within a reasonable time.
If we refuse a request, we will tell you why in writing and explain how you can complain.
